St James' C of E Primary School, Blackburn

Every day is an Open Day here at St James'! If you're thinking of sending your child here and would like to arrange a tour, please call our friendly office staff on 01254 698 335!

At St James’, our daily life is shaped by a vision that is both Christian and wholeheartedly inclusive. Guided by our Christian Values, we endeavour to inspire, cherish and serve our school community. We strive to be exceptional in all we do. We nurture a love of all God’s children and seek to build respect for all faiths and beliefs. These words are not simply statements; they are the heartbeat of our school.

Our mission - “Together we value, inspire and develop each other within a happy, safe community based on Christian values and respect for other faiths” - drives every relationship, every decision, and every opportunity we create for our children. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, in worship or in the wider community, we hold fast to our call to “Serve one another in love” (Galatians 5:13) and to “Show respect to everyone.” These guides form the foundation of a community where every child knows they are valued, capable and precious.

The difference this makes across St James’ is profound. Children learn in an environment where kindness is modelled, courage is encouraged and respect is lived out. Our pupils develop the confidence to question, the resilience to persevere and the compassion to serve others. Families feel welcomed, supported and included. Staff work with purpose and unity, committed to enabling each child to flourish academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally.

Our diverse school community enriches our daily life. We celebrate the uniqueness of every child and honour the wide range of cultures and beliefs that strengthen who we are. Through our curriculum, worship, community partnerships and pastoral care, our children grow to understand their own identity while developing a deep respect for others - preparing them to contribute positively to an ever-changing world.

We are exceptionally proud of our children and their achievements. But just as importantly, we are proud of the people they are becoming. At St James’, every success, every act of kindness, every step of progress reflects what is possible when we place Christian values, love for all God’s children and respect for every individual at the centre of school life.

Whether you are already part of our St James’ family or exploring our school for your child, I warmly invite you to visit, meet our wonderful community and see the difference our vision and mission make every single day.

I'm sure if you visit us, you will see this lived out in our distinctive school every day. Do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to help. You can get in touch by emailing office@stjames.blackburn.sch.uk or calling 01254 698335.

Attendance is Key!

It is essential that your child comes to school every day. This is where they will learn the skills they need to equip themselves as they move through education and become confident, independent and responsible global citizens.

Keeping your child away from school when they are well enough to be here will have a negative impact on them.

So please, if it's a school day, send them our way!
